After crossing the seven seas, Statsraad Lehmkuhl finally comes home to Bergen. One Ocean Expedition is over when Statsraad Lehmkuhl comes sailing into “Byfjorden” with cadets from the Norwegian Naval Academy singing from mast and rigging.

Statsraad Lehmkuhl encourages all small boats to join the welcome and follow the ship in procession on the very last leg from Sotrabroen to the city. It may be worth noting that the port of Bergen will have its own regulations for boat traffic in Vågen itself on this day.

Bergen Municipality is responsible for the public areas along the quay during the return. Therefore, contact the municipality if you have any questions via e-mail contact@oneoceanweek.no

Statsraad Lehmkuhl's return to Bergen also marks the start of One Ocean Week, a week filled with conferences, seminars and top management gatherings about the ocean.

The purpose of the One Ocean Expedition has been to create awareness and share knowledge about how important the ocean is for a sustainable future.

- April 15 will be a day for the Bergen history books, now the world will see how Bergen can prepare for a folk festival. I am particularly looking forward to seeing the boat-cortege. We encourage all small boats to meet at 10.00 at Sotrabroen and follow Statsraad Lehmkuhl to Bryggen, urges Mayor Linn Kristin Engø (Ap). This will be magical, she adds.

Haakon Vatle, expedition leader and director of Statsraad Lehmkuhl is looking forward to the big homecoming:

- After 5 years of planning and 20 months of sailing, several thousand people from all over the world have been involved in the expedition, all with a desire to contribute to a more sustainable ocean. The fact that H.M. The King himself is coming to the homecoming for Statsraad Lehmkuhl and One Ocean Expedition is incredibly great recognition for the work that has been put in by all involved actors of One Ocean Expedition. We are all humbled and very happy about this wonderful news. It will be an absolutely fantastic homecoming for Statsraad Lehmkuhl and the best start to One Ocean Week.

- Ever since the first Norwegians settled in Bergen and its surroundings, the sea has been central. The close ties between humans and the sea are in our DNA. We are looking forward to this, says county mayor Jon Askeland (Sp).

- The sailing marks the start of One Ocean Week. We invite you to a fantastic week in Bergen, where the eyes of the world are on us. I am looking forward to showing that we have the technology, the wise minds and future solutions for a more sustainable sea, says City Council leader Rune Bakervik (Ap).
