H.M. King Harald will be present at the homecoming of Statsraad Lehmkuhl and the opening of One Ocean Week 2023

H.M. King Harald will be present at the homecoming of Statsraad Lehmkuhl's One Ocean Expedition and at the opening of One Ocean Week 2023, Saturday 15th Of April in Bergen.

On this day, the sailing ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl will return to her hometown of Bergen from The One Ocean Expedition, which is an official part of the UN's ocean decade. The ship's homecoming marks the start of the first edition of One Ocean Week, which will be held 15-21. April in Bergen. It will be a week filled with conferences, meetings and various activities that focus on the sustainable use of the sea.

- I am pleased that H.M. King Harald is coming to Bergen to welcome Statsraad Lehmkuhl, who is returning after 20 months circumnavigating the globe, and in that connection to be responsible for the opening of One Ocean Week, says Mayor Linn Kristin Engø.

- The king is coming to town, and finally we get Statsraaden back home. This will simply be a fantastic day for the ocean city of Bergen, says city council leader Rune Bakervik. 

The official opening of One Ocean Week 2023 will take place on Saturday 15 April at 12.00 at Statsraad Lehmkuhl with a subsequent reception in Håkonshallen. One Ocean Week is a collaboration between Ocean City Bergen and partners, with support from Bergen municipality and Vestland county municipality. The opening will be available to the public at Bryggen in Bergen.
