Bergen as host city for an international ocean conference in 2030!

Bergen has an ambitious goal: To host a major international ocean conference in 2030. This would unite efforts across sectors and provide a shared direction for both Bergen – and Norway – in advancing the ocean agenda.

The most relevant conference to apply for is the Ocean Decade Conference, organized by IOC–UNESCO in Paris. Previous conferences were held in 2021 (digitally), 2024 (Barcelona), with upcoming events planned for 2027 and 2030 – marking the end of the UN Decade of Ocean Science.

To make this happen, the application must be submitted by 2028. The clock is ticking – planning must begin now. Join us and let’s get started!

The event is free of charge and will take place in historic and maritime surroundings – on the banjer of Statsraad Lehmkuhl.

Welcome on board for engaging discussions with a top-tier panel!
